All Japanese tea starts out as aracha, but the majority of it is sorted\/blended into a final product before it is sold. This is an asamushi style tea (meaning lightly steamed) made from the Yabukita cultivar in the Kakegawa region of Shizuoka prefecture. Most aracha from Kakegawa is fukamushi style (deep steamed), so this lightly steamed version is a rare find.
